Business Development & Growth Leader
Business Development & Growth Leader (Group Level)
🌍 About us
Auren is an international professional services firm providing audit, legal, tax, consulting, and corporate finance services to businesses and organizations, with a strong presence in Spain and an international network.
CompanionCo is the holding company of various Auren and Moore accounting and consulting firms, backed by Waterland Private Equity Investments B.V.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and a high growth pace, CompanionCo is building a pan-European organization, founded on the solid legacy and values of its partnerships.
Its vision is to become the leading pan-European service provider for mid-market companies, offering accounting, audit, tax, and advisory services through a pragmatic, hands-on approach. In doing so, CompanionCo aims to create sustainable value for its employees, clients, and shareholders alike.
🎯 Context
With the ambition to become the best mid-market service provider, we aim to target the European midcaps who have a high need for seamless cross border support. The market opportunity is unlimited and for a big part unexplored by midtier service providers. Most service providers are focusing on multinationals or have only a local support offering.
We have the ambition to
Tap into the wide and still under supported midcap segment
Increase stickiness of SMEs that grow international
Become the reference entry point for non-EU SMEs and midcaps needing support in Europe (through Moore Global and Auren International / Antea Alliance networks or not)
Enable x-border x-selling across our different national firms
To lever this potential, we are looking to hire a Business Development & Growth Leader at CompanionCo.
🎯 Main objectives
The Business Development & Growth Leader is responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing the group’s organic growth strategy across all countries and business units. As a central coordinating leader in the organization’s commercial development, this role ensures that CompanionCo fully leverages its unique model—360° service offering, pan-European presence, and integrated client approach—to drive cross-border collaboration, expand into new segments such as the midmarket, and strengthen business development excellence throughout the group.
The Business Development & Growth Leader operates at both strategic and operational levels, ensuring the maturity, alignment, and performance of Business Development teams across all country firms
🔑 Key Responsibilities
The Business Development & Growth Leader plays a connective, enabling role at CompanionCo Group level, working in close partnership with the Business Development leaders of each country firm. The role coherence, visibility, and momentum to the group’s organic growth agenda by aligning country-led initiatives around a shared strategic direction.
Together with the country BD leaders, the role builds and maintains a coordinated Group Organic Growth Strategy that leverages CompanionCo’s unique service model and multinational footprint. This includes defining shared target segments, priority services, market approaches, and commercial objectives, while ensuring that execution remains close to clients through local teams. The role helps translate strategic intent into concrete cross-border opportunities, campaigns, and initiatives that “make growth happen” in practice.
A core responsibility is to strengthen the group’s business development capability. The role supports the coordinated development of BD tools, infrastructure, methodologies, data, and people skills across countries, enabling both central and local teams to execute growth strategies more effectively. It also contributes to the development and selection of strong BD leadership and talent at both group and country levels, ensuring that CompanionCo continues to build a mature, professional commercial engine.
The BD & Growth Leader acts as the main facilitator of international collaboration. By promoting best-practice sharing, joint go-to-market initiatives, and cross-border teaming, the role helps country firms learn from each other and unlock opportunities that no single firm could capture alone. It coordinates transversal BD initiatives approved by the CompanionCo leadership such as harmonising international desks, developing cross-border collaboration models, and supporting Joint Business Teams (e.g., Transfer Pricing, Global Mobility) to grow integrated, multi-country services.
Effective coordination and governance are key. The role creates alignment between central and local teams on priorities, campaigns, and major sales initiatives, while respecting local ownership and client relationships. It ensures that group-level performance, pipeline, and progress against organic growth objectives are visible and discussed in the right forums, including regular reporting and strategic updates to the Operational Committee.
Beyond structure and process, the role actively shapes culture. It fosters a collaborative, high-performance Business Development community across CompanionCo—one that shares leads, insights, and successes, works together across borders, and is collectively accountable for growing the group in a sustainable and client-centric way.
